Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, predicts that AI will render every job unnecessary

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Inc., expressed his belief that artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to render jobs obsolete. Musk, who also holds executive positions at SpaceX, X, and the newly formed AI startup xAI, stated that AI could become the “most disruptive force in history” during an event at Lancaster House in the UK. He further explained that there will come a point where AI surpasses human intelligence, leading to a future where no job is necessary. Musk humorously pondered whether this prospect would make people comfortable or uncomfortable, emphasizing the need to find meaning in life as technology advances.

These remarks from Musk followed the conclusion of a significant AI summit at Bletchley Park, England. Global leaders reached a consensus on the risks posed by AI and discussed potential doomsday scenarios involving hypothetical superintelligence. The summit provided an opportunity for technologists and political leaders to address the existential threats associated with AI. Notably, the United States and China, despite their tense relationship regarding technology, agreed to collaborate globally in developing AI safely and establishing regulations.

It is worth clarifying that Elon Musk is the CEO of Tesla, as a previous version incorrectly stated his status.
