Apple has unveiled its latest products at its “Scary Fast” event, including the new MacBook Pro models and the revamped 24-inch iMac. These devices are powered by the newly announced M3 chipsets, which bring improved CPU and GPU performance and offer hardware-accelerated ray tracing for an enhanced gaming experience.
The MacBook Pro lineup includes a 14-inch and 16-inch model, available in Silver, Space Grey, and Space Black color options. Pre-orders for the laptops have already started, and they will begin shipping on November 7.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro comes with a Liquid Retina XDR display, offering a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 1,600 nits peak brightness. It is available with the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chipsets and offers up to 48GB of unified memory that can be further upgraded to 128GB. The storage options range from 512GB to 8TB.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro also features a Liquid Retina XDR display and is offered with the M3 Pro and M3 Max chipsets. It comes with up to 36GB of unified memory, expandable to 128GB, and storage options ranging from 512GB to 8TB.
Both models include a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a three-mic array with high signal-to-noise ratio, a six-speaker sound system with force-cancelling woofers, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Connectivity options include three Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 4 port, USB 4 port, SDXC card slot, a MagSafe 3 Port, and HDMI 2.1 port. The 14-inch MacBook Pro is powered by a 70Whr battery, while the 16-inch model offers a larger 100 Whr battery.
In addition to the MacBook Pro models, Apple has also introduced the 24-inch iMac. This new iMac, available in multiple color options, is powered by the M3 chipset, offering 35% faster CPU performance and 65% faster GPU performance compared to its predecessor. It features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina XDR display with up to 500 nits brightness and runs on macOS Sonoma. The iMac comes with 8GB of unified memory, upgradable to 24GB, and storage options ranging from 512GB to 2TB. It also includes a backlit Magic Keyboard or a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and a three-mic array.
Pre-orders for the 24-inch iMac have started, and it will begin shipping on November 7.
The prices of the MacBook Pro models and the 24-inch iMac vary depending on the configurations. The lowest-priced MacBook Pro 14-inch model starts at ₹1,69,900, while the highest-priced MacBook Pro 16-inch model is priced at ₹3,99,900. The base variant of the 24-inch iMac is priced at ₹1,34,900, and the 8GB unified memory + 512GB SSD variant is priced at ₹1,74,900.
