Indian badminton star Lakshya Sen has made a plea to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, and Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar to resolve his visa issues. As he gears up to participate in the Japan and China Opens, Sen’s team applied for a Japan visa on October 30 and has still not received it.
Taking to Twitter on November 8, Lakshya Sen expressed his urgent need for the visa for himself, his coach, and his physio, asking for help from Indian authorities.
With the China Masters set to take place from November 21 to 26 in Shenzhen, many Indian badminton talents will be competing in several upcoming competitions, including the Japan Masters from November 14 to 19.
History-making Indian men’s badminton team member, Lakshya Sen last participated in the French Open 2023 where he suffered defeat in the men’s singles event, losing to Arnaud Merkle of France. This marks a critical time for Sen in his professional badminton career as he seeks to compete in international competitions.
In the midst of managing his visa issues, Sen looks to make his mark at the upcoming badminton competitions, seeking support and assistance from the Indian government.
