Book Launch of Graphic Novel on CM Yogi at Nehru Centre in Indian Embassy, London

London Welcomes Best-Selling Graphic Novel “Ajay to Yogi Adityanath”

In a triumphant finale to its nationwide tour, the popular graphic novel “Ajay to Yogi Adityanath” has arrived in London. The book, which has already achieved notable recognition such as the Asia Book of Records and Amazon Bestseller status, was launched at the prestigious Nehru Center of the Indian Embassy.

The grand event was attended by esteemed guests including TNC Director Amish Tripathi, author Shantanu Gupta, Kuldeep Shikhawat from Overseas Friends of BJP, and Suresh Mangalagiri. Prior to its London launch, the novel was introduced in 26 cities across India, including Delhi, Lucknow, and Varanasi.

The author, Shantanu Gupta, who has previously written two bestselling titles about Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, unveiled his new graphic novel for young readers in Hyderabad earlier this week.

In an exclusive interview, Gupta shared the story behind the novel. “Ajay to Yogi Adityanath” follows the journey of a young boy named Ajay Singh Bisht, who was born in the Uttarakhand region and raised in humble surroundings. Ajay’s father was a junior forest officer, and his mother was a homemaker. Despite their modest lifestyle, Ajay developed a fondness for caring for the family’s cows and listening to stories of freedom fighters. This passion for knowledge and determination ultimately led him to become the Mahant of Gorakhnath Mutt, the youngest member of Parliament, and eventually the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Gupta emphasized that “Ajay to Yogi Adityanath” is a tale of perseverance, determination, and hard work that serves as an inspiration for every student. The graphic novel was officially launched in over 51 schools across Uttar Pradesh earlier this year on Yogi Adityanath’s birthday, making it a record-breaking event.

Amish Tripathi, an acclaimed writer and fellow attendee at the launch, spoke highly of Yogi Adityanath, describing him as a true Raj-Rishi, a king who lives a life of sacrifice. Tripathi commended the developmental changes brought about by Adityanath’s governance, particularly in the city of Kashi.

Shantanu Gupta also explained the artistic journey that the graphic novel had undertaken over the past year. From storyboarding all the pages to working closely with artists and designers, Gupta ensured that each panel, page, and dialogue conveyed the story effectively. Additionally, the book includes engaging puzzles and games related to Yogi Adityanath.

With his previous titles “The Monk Who Became Chief Minister” and “The Monk Who Transformed Uttar Pradesh” already receiving widespread acclaim, Gupta now plans to introduce “Ajay to Yogi Adityanath” to the Indian diaspora in the United Kingdom and Europe.

The arrival of “Ajay to Yogi Adityanath” in London marks a significant milestone for Indian graphic novels and promises to captivate readers with its compelling narrative and stunning artwork.
