We never compel anyone to pay, and they are more than welcome to dine without paying anything. Even if they contribute an amount less than Rs 25, it is accepted with gratitude.”
What sets Anjappam apart is their innovative approach to accepting payment. Instead of a billing counter, they have a contribution box where patrons can offer any amount they want after their meal. This money helps sustain the initiative and ensure that good and healthy food, along with clean eating spaces and a hygienic ambience, are accessible to all.
Anjappam exclusively serves vegetarian food, sourcing locally grown vegetables to ensure both taste and nutritional value. The initiative recognizes that hunger is a fundamental need and strives to make food accessible to all, irrespective of their financial condition.
According to their official website, Anjappam not only offers healthy meals during the day but also transforms into reading spaces with libraries in the evening. These libraries are made possible through book donations from patrons. Regardless of their background, caste, creed, religion, sex, age, or disability, every visitor is warmly welcomed at Anjappam.
