New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old government employee has been arrested for allegedly killing his colleague and burying his body in a vacant house in southwest Delhi’s RK Puram area. The accused, identified as Anish, works at Survey of India and is a resident of RK Puram Sector-2.

According to the police, the victim, Mahesh, had loaned Anish Rs 9 lakh. However, when Mahesh demanded his money back and criticized Anish for spending money on his girlfriend, the situation took a deadly turn.

The incident came to light when Mahesh’s brother, Anesh, reported him missing to the RK Puram Police Station on August 29. Anesh said that Mahesh had left home on August 28 to meet his colleague Anish at RK Puram Sector 2 but never returned.

During the investigation, Anish became a suspect as he failed to inform the police about Mahesh’s visit to his house on the day of the incident, as he had told Mahesh’s family. He even promised to help them in their search for Mahesh.

Eventually, Anish confessed to the crime. He stated that Mahesh had been harassing and insulting him over the loan, leading him to decide to kill him. Anish lured Mahesh to his house in RK Puram, where he killed him and buried his body in a pit near his house, which was undergoing sewer work at the time.

The police recovered Mahesh’s body based on Anish’s disclosure. They also seized Rs 5 lakh in cash, two vehicles used in the crime, and the murder weapon from Anish’s possession.

The investigation is ongoing to verify Anish’s claims about his movements after the crime and to determine who covered the pit with cement.

The police are also looking into the possibility of the case being linked to a job scam, although no evidence has been found thus far.

This shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the need for stricter measures to ensure the safety of employees in the workplace.
