Former Apple employees introduce AI-Pin, a wearable device aiming to supplant your smartphone

San Francisco-based startup, Humane, has recently launched its first product, the AI Pin. This AI-powered smart device comes with a small projector and is aiming to revolutionize the way we interact with technology.

Founded by two ex-Apple employees, Humane is backed by heavyweight companies like Microsoft and ChatGPT developer OpenAI. Their new product, the AI Pin, is a two-part wearable device that can magnetically attach to clothes or other surfaces.

Priced at $699, the AI Pin aims to replace the smartphone and requires a monthly subscription of $24. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and the company’s Cosmos operating system. This operating system is designed to streamline user queries without the need for multiple applications.

The AI Pin features a green laser projector that can holographically display information on your hand or other surfaces. Equipped with a camera, it can recognize objects and provide details such as nutritional information on food.

With voice controls and gestures, users can control the device. It can perform tasks like placing calls, messaging, and providing real-time translations.

In addition, the AI Pin can answer questions, summarize emails, and provide nutritional information. Humane is also planning to add more features such as navigation and shopping.

The introduction of the AI Pin demonstrates Humane’s innovative approach to integrating AI into wearable technology, raising the bar for the industry. This commitment to advancing AI technology further establishes the company as a major player in the tech space.
