The highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy has generated excitement among fans as the collection of three games in the popular GTA series hit the market in 2021. Netflix announced the pre-registration for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition, which includes Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, all updated for mobile play.
Netflix emphasized the extensive value that the addition of GTA: The Trilogy brings to its growing repertoire of over 80 mobile games. The company highlighted the absence of ads, in-app purchases, or additional fees for Netflix members, making the iconic series available within their subscriptions.
In a move to expand its gaming offering, Netflix had previously introduced games across various devices, including TVs, computers, and mobile, and initiated the first public tests of cloud-streamed games. Mike Verdu, Netflix’s Vice President of games, disclosed plans to conduct a limited beta test in Canada and the UK for a select number of members, enabling them to access games on supported TVs, PCs, and Macs through Netflix.com on compatible browsers.
The initial test will feature two games: Oxenfree from Night School Studio, a game studio affiliated with Netflix, and Molehew’s Mining Adventure, an arcade game centered around gem-mining. This foray into gaming demonstrates Netflix’s commitment to offering a diverse and engaging entertainment experience for its subscribers.
