India’s Domestic Air Passenger Traffic Hits Record High

New Delhi witnessed a significant milestone in domestic air travel on Thursday as airlines carried a staggering 463,417 passengers. The surge in air passenger traffic marked a new high for the month of November, occurring at least four times.

Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, India’s domestic aviation sector has experienced a remarkable resurgence, a testament to the positive attitude, progressive policies, and the trust of passengers. The Civil Aviation Ministry expressed its elation, emphasizing that the industry’s growth has been both overwhelming and inspiring.

Official data revealed that the total number of domestic passengers reached 463,417, with 5,998 flight movements recorded on Thursday. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also took to social media on Friday to announce the setting of a new record in Indian domestic aviation, following three days of consecutive peak air traffic from November 18 to 20.
