In a distressing incident, two newborn baby girls were discovered abandoned at different locations in the city, and tragically, one of them was later declared dead. This incident has raised concerns about the safety and welfare of infants in the area.

According to officials, a sanitation worker found one of the babies in a washroom of the surgical ward at Babu Ishwar Sharan district hospital on Tuesday. Shockingly, the baby still had her umbilical cord attached. The courageous sanitation worker promptly alerted the authorities.

The baby girl was immediately admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for necessary medical treatment. Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. VK Gupta stated that although the baby’s condition was critical, she is now stable and out of danger. Medical professionals are closely monitoring her progress.

In another unsettling incident, the second baby was discovered amidst a heap of garbage near a nursing home in the Vishnupuri locality within the Civil Lines area. Police promptly responded to the situation and provided the necessary assistance. Regrettably, doctors pronounced the second baby dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Local Police Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Gupta confirmed that the authorities have sent the deceased baby’s body for a post-mortem examination. Further investigations and legal action will be taken based on the results of the examination.

The discovery of these abandoned babies highlights the urgent need for measures to ensure the safety and protection of infants. The local community and authorities must work together to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
