OnePlus Open, the highly anticipated foldable smartphone from OnePlus, has finally made its debut in India. The device, which is the first of its kind from the company, has generated a lot of excitement with its impressive features. Priced at ₹1,39,999, the OnePlus Open is positioned as a premium offering in the Indian market. It will be available for purchase starting from October 27. The device comes in two color options: Voyager Black with faux leather and Emerald Dusk with a matte-textured glass finish.

Interested buyers can pre-order the OnePlus Open now through various channels, including Amazon India, OnePlus Online Store, OnePlus retail stores, Reliance Digital, and authorized retail partners across the country. Compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which starts at ₹1,54,999, the OnePlus Open offers a more affordable alternative.

The device also sports a 6.31-inch 2K LTPO cover display with a 10-120Hz refresh rate and ceramic guard protection. Both displays offer a peak brightness of 2800 nits.

The device’s hinge is made using aerospace-grade materials, ensuring durability. OnePlus claims that the Open has been tested to withstand over 1 million folds. It runs on Android 13 out of the box, with the company’s OxygenOS 3.2 on top. The smartphone is equipped with OnePlus’ Open Canvas, which enhances multitasking capabilities. It will receive four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Open is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The camera setup on the device includes a triple camera configuration at the back, consisting of a 48MP Sony LYT-T808 primary sensor with OIS, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 64MP telephoto lens with 6X optical zoom and up to 120X digital zoom. The Open also features Hasselblad support.

For selfies, the OnePlus Open offers a 32MP front camera on the cover screen and a 20MP camera on the inner display. The device packs a 4,805mAh battery with 67W fast charging support, capable of fully charging the smartphone in just 42 minutes.

Additional features of the OnePlus Open include an Alert Slider, familiar to OnePlus users, which allows easy control over notifications. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

In conclusion, the OnePlus Open has finally arrived in India, bringing a new and exciting option to the foldables market. With its premium features and competitive pricing, the device aims to give the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 a run for its money.
