“Royal Enfield introduces bike inspired by Bruce Lee’s iconic style”

Royal Enfield has unveiled its highly anticipated motorcycle, the Himalayan 450, in India at the Motoverse 2023 event in Goa. The base model is expected to be priced between ₹2.5 lakh to ₹2.6 lakh, offering three variants at launch – Base, Pass, and Summit. The new engine delivers a power output of 40 bhp at 8,000rpm and 40 Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm.

Chief Siddharth Lal announced the price of the adventure tourer, starting at Rs 2.69 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, with the top variant available for Rs 2.84 lakh.

The bike will also be available in Europe and the UK from March 2024, priced at 5,900 euros and 5,750 pounds respectively.

Lal discussed the decision to substantially upgrade the Himalayan, drawing inspiration from Bruce Lee, who redefined the action hero archetype. The new Himalayan is positioned to compete with larger adventure tourers like BMW GS 1300 and Kawasaki Versys 1000.

The Himalayan 450 is available in three variants – Base, Pass, and Summit, with five color options. The design includes a modern rugged look, a new LED headlight, and a redesigned fuel tank, with a windscreen, redesigned LED indicators, and more.

The 450 features an all-new single-cylinder liquid-cooled 452cc engine and is the first liquid-cooled engine from Royal Enfield. Its features include a full-color TFT display, screen mirroring, Google Maps support, and more.

The bike offers two primary riding modes – Eco and Performance, with the option to activate the rear ABS in both modes.

Comparing the Himalayan 450 with the KTM 390 Adventure SW, the 450 stands out with its 452cc engine, powerful torque, and modern design. This bike is expected to provide a tough competition in the adventure touring segment.
