The survey responses from over 12,000 individuals living in 172 countries or territories ranked Malaga, Alicante, and Valencia as the top cities where foreigners are happiest with their social, financial, and work lives.
The overall report indicates that Spanish locales dominated the list, with Madrid ranked No. 6 and Barcelona at No. 13. Each Spanish city did exceptionally well in elements contributing to foreigners’ quality of life, such as warm climate, leisure options, nightlife, gastronomy, and healthcare. Spain is known as one of the healthiest countries in the world with one of the highest life expectancies in the European Union.
Newcomers also find it easy to settle in, make friends, and feel welcome in their new homes abroad. The Spanish government recently made it easier for foreigners to move there to work remotely by launching a digital nomad visa for “international teleworkers.”
